Web Based Hardware Ordering System

The project aims to address two significant challenges for small renovation companies, which are labor-intensive in creating quotations and the complexity and disorganization in order management processes. To tackle these issues head-on, the project proposes digitalization of the process by introducing a web-based hardware ordering system. By leveraging the advancement of technology, the project seeks to streamline and optimize the process of creating quotations, supplier management, and order management. The scope of the project covers product and supplier management, quotation handling, project management, and order management.

Objectives

To develop a digital system that significantly reduces the time and effort required to create and share detailed quotations and price lists with customers
To create an algorithm that allow project managers to manage and summarize complex orders, seamlessly from multiple suppliers
To design an automated documentation and reporting system to reduce manual effort and errors in generating project-related documents, price lists, progress reports, and invoices

Project strengths

Fast generation of quotation list. Before having this system, a small renovation company usually takes note of every required material in a notebook and creates a quotation list using an MS Excel template which is time-consuming. This system allows users to record all material required in an organized way, and one-click to generate a quotation list in PDF format
Flexibility in creating quotations. In traditional ways, managers change the price often depending on the situation, like delivery distance, quantity of purchase, and more. However digital solutions available in the market cannot fulfill the requirements, as the company’s purchasing department controls all the prices. In this system, the manager gets to change the unit price of product during the generation of quotation, thus increase flexibility on it
Efficient order management. Before having this system, user need to manually organize the order based on quotation generated, which is time consuming and not efficient. This system allows the admin user to get an order summary after the project is generated
