  • BrainPop: BrainPop offers hundreds of animated educational videos across a wide variety of topics, all of which are accompanied by interactive quizzes, activities, and games. The content is intended for students in grades 3-12 and covers material in ELA, math, science, social studies, health, art, and technology. They are currently offering free access to folks who've had to switch to distance learning due to COVID-19.   • Class Central: Class Central is a listing of free online courses from universities, offered through massive open online course (MOOC) platforms. They aggregate courses from many providers to make it easy to find the best courses on almost any subject, wherever they exist.   • EdPuzzle: Edpuzzle empowers teachers to make any video your lesson. Easily create beautiful interactive video lessons for your students you can integrate right into Schoology or Google Classroom. You can use videos from YouTube, Khan Academy, Crash Course and more, or you can record and upload your own. You can track your students' comprehension using their analytics feature.   • Facing History: Facing History has lifted the login restrictions for students on their streaming video collection. If a login block appears on a video, simply click on the title, which includes the new password-free link.   • GoNoodle: GoNoodle engages young people with movement and mindfulness videos created by child development experts. Available for free. https://www.gonoodle.com

  • Miro: The Canoga Park site uses this free, collaborative online whiteboard platform designed for remote teams. https://miro.com

  • NextGen Personal Finance: Offers a virtual PD series called “Teaching Remotely.” Shared by Summer Ebs. https://www.ngpf.org

  • Remind App: Pomona site uses this app to keep students in the loop and up to date through text messages without using personal numbers. https://www.remind.com

  • Scrible: Scrible is a browser plug-in for saving, commenting on, and annotating articles found on the web. Students use Scrible to take notes on online articles right from the webpage, create citations, save bibliographies, and integrate their work to Google Docs. Teachers organize students by groups, curate a classroom library of student annotations, and sync with Google Classroom. Scrible offers a free basic version and a paid premium version.
