Every year, our 4th grade students take a field trip to learn what it was like growing up in Florida in the 1800s. This field trip is called Pioneer Day. This community event was cancelled this year due to COVID Protocols. Then, Mrs. Barros had a spark of genius! She met with volunteers from the Punta Gorda Historical Society who usually organize Pioneer Day, and they allowed her to borrow artifacts to share with our students. This was a win-win for all (Habit 4)!
Our talented 5th grade Omega students developed interactive presentations and activities to bring Pioneer Day alive to all of our 4th grade classes. Our 5th graders displayed true leadership in developing presentations and activities and sharing them on Pioneer Day. Talk about synergizing! (Habit 6)
Please enjoy a glimpse into this amazing day!
