Hi There, I'm Fatma El Mahdi.
Software Engineer | Backend & Systems Focus - Junior Roles (Tech. Industry)
Junior Localization Engineer | Senior Project Manager (Localization Industry)
I'm a software developer transitioning into technology after 7.5 years of experience in the Translation & Localization industry, where I led cross-functional projects, managed distributed teams, optimized workflows, and delivered complex projects for global clients. That experience strengthened my ownership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills / qualities, I now apply to software engineering.
I'm building a strong foundation in backend development, software architecture, and systems programming through hands-on projects and continuous learning. My recent work focuses on Java, SQL, Oracle Database, JDBC, object-oriented design, layered architecture, and backend application development, alongside strengthening my understanding of C, Python, Unix systems, data structures, and digital logic(Hardware)
I learn by building real projects, from a multi-user Java Task Management System designed around clean architecture and business logic, to lower-level programming projects that deepen my understanding of how software interacts with underlying systems.
While I have a strong interest in systems, I'm equally interested in backend engineering, where I can design scalable applications, implement clean business logic, and continue growing as a software engineer.
This portfolio documents that journey and will continue to evolve with new projects, that demonstrate my evolving skills over time.
Alongside my technical career, I remain available for Localization Engineering opportunities and selective Project Management roles within the localization industry.
