Mrs. Sequoia LeBlanc's federal career has spanned over seven years with humble beginnings across multiple state lines. As a San Francsico, CA Bay Area native, she embarked on her educational journey at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. From there, that is what sparked her interest in public sector work. With the University classified as a national historic site under the Department of the Interior's National Park Service, she began with campus museum work for George Washington Carver Museum and The Oaks, Home of Booker T. Washington. Those opportunities led to her selection as a two-time intern with Bay Area NPS sites including John Muir National Historic Site and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Upon receiving her B.S. in political science wih a minor in history, she was later selected for her first federal position as a Park Guide for NPS' Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site. Soon after, she was able to pivot to her first position in HR as an Administrative Assistant. From there her career progressed when she was selected for her initial HR Specialist role. She has since held federal HR positions at the National Park Service, U.S. Office of Personnel Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Her subject matter has covered recruitment and staffing, human capital system evaluation, personnel record processing, and benefits administration. She currently serves as a Senior Human Resources Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration under the U.S. Department of Transportation. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two dogs, volunteering, crocheting, singing, and writing. She is eager to serve Atlanta's governmental community with YGL.
