With modified hours to allow families more efficient learning time to meet their family's lifestyle, while still maintaining an individualized learning program for each child.

1. Provide high quality instructional experiences in a timely manner.
2. Provide developmentally appropriate social experiences.
3. Develop the habits necessary for life-long learning.
4. Challenge students to stretch their threshold for perseverance by providing rigorous educational opportunities.

Specifications

One option of the program (referred to as hybrid) offers rich, quality instruction throughout the week. Highly qualified teachers offer mini lessons in a classroom setting. Students attend in the classroom setting 3 days per week for 2 hours of instruction. A complete Independent Study Plan will be provided by the teacher. Although these assignments will be facilitated at home, families will have the option of customizing the plans to meet the dynamic needs of their family as well as individual learning styles of each child. In total, a student’s schedule will be comprised of 6 hours within the classroom setting and 14 hours of independent study.

The second option is traditional independent study whereby the family is the the main facilitator of the Independent Study Plan provided by the teacher.

As a YUSD school, our students have access to services, sports, electives, and other activities available to YUSD students. In order to take advantage of these opportunities, JMA parents are encouraged to sign up for the Remind accounts and other notifications at their nearest comprehensive YUSD school.
