Make Healthy Foods Available Everywhere!
The Goal: To create food and beverage environments that ensure that healthy food and beverage options are the routine, easy choice.
School's have a unique opportunity to create environments for children to learn healthy eating practices during young ages without being influenced by unhealthy food options. Health and Wellness practices modeled from the cafeteria to the classroom is the gold standard.
September 2023: Lunch menus in the event of delayed school openings:
YHS: In the event of a 2 or 3 hour delayed school opening, there will be a continental breakfast served until lunch is ready. Lunch service will consist of grill items, pizza, made-to-order sandwiches & salads and a pasta entrée. In the event of an early dismissal (whether planned or due to weather) there will be no service, however vending machines will be available for snacks and beverages.
MESMS: In the event of a 2 hour delayed school opening, the hot entrée of the day will be the meal offered on the monthly menu unless stated differently on the Food Service Webpage. In the event of a 3 hour delayed school opening, no lunch will be served
Crompond, Mohansic, and Brookside Elementary Schools: In the event of a 2 hr delayed school opening, the hot entrée of the day will be the meal offered on the monthly menu unless stated differently on the Food Service Webpage. In the event of a 3 hour delayed school opening, no lunch will be served
