What is literacy?

Simply put, literacy is the ability to read and write. In this class we will develop our literacy in all contexts. This world requires us to utilize our reading and writing skills every single day. Writing text messages and emails allows us to communicate and create connections with others. Reading signs and labels keeps us informed, aware, and safe. 

Of course, you probably mastered those basics of literacy long ago.

Let's begin by reflecting on our past experiences. We have to know 

where we came from before we can move forward. Our objective (goal or target) 

is to reflect on our literacy history and we will do this through writing.
