As a local resident who lives in the community with my family, I have seen first-hand the effects London-centric politics have had on our area.

Without the strong voice that London and Scotland have, we are left to the crumbs from Whitehall's table.

This leads to Wakefield and Yorkshire as a whole having:

• Poorer transport links

• Weaker health service

• Ailing schools and education providers

All leading to fewer jobs, lower wages and a weaker economy.

I have a three point plan for building a stronger and more prosperous Wakefield.
