Inspired by the BBC's "Syrian Journey: Choose your own escape route," this project is a collaboration across a variety of classes at York School--including English, technology, art, and Spanish. The project involved extensive research over the course of two years and is intended to develop an understanding of some of the "push" factors that lead to the difficult decision to leave one's home country for better opportunities. We hope that the experience of this hypothetical journey will develop empathy for those making the actual one.
