The Music Masters Symposium is an annual meeting, organized and hosted by students, for MA and MSc students at the University of York. Dedicated to showcasing student projects, research, and new technologies, the YMMS is a cross pollination of people and ideas from three disciplines: Audio & Music Technology, Music Production, and Music Psychology.
The YMMS will be held at the University of York, in the Arthur Sykes Rymer Auditorium. Presentations will be between 9am - 5pm on June 7th and 8th, 2022. Schedule information can be found Here . More information about the presentations can be found Here.

Through a unique mixture of science, technology and creativity, Audio and Music Technology students develop innovative audio applications for music making, recording, analysis and reproduction.

Music psychology explores the deep and complex relationship between music, the human mind and the brain. Students learn about the basic mechanisms of the auditory system and delve into the perception and cognition of musical elements, such as melody, timing, harmony and timbre.

Music production refers to the practical, theoretical and analytical aspects of the creation, perception, and reseption of recorded music. Students examine how creative studio practice is informed by science and engineering, composition, performance and musicology.
