Our question is about finding evidence that access to blue spaces in cities improves mental health.
If you want to try out search results from Dimensions in VosViewer, then first of all make sure you have access to VosViewer (see box on the right of this screen).
Then register to use Dimensions.
Carry out a search, for example 'blue spaces mental health'
Click on Save/Export in the top banner
Select Export Results
Select Export for bibliometric mapping (this can be loaded into VosViewer)
OR
Select Export Full Record, Excel and you can load the results into Voyant Tools
Once the file is ready you will receive an email and you can download it
Open VosViewer
Select Create from the Map menu
Select Create a map based on text data
Click Next
Select Read data from bibliographic database files
Select the Dimensions database tab
Load the Dimensions CSV file you have created
Select Next
Select title and abstract fields and click Next
Choose full counting and click Next
Change the Minimum number of occurrences of a term to 5 and click Next
When Number of Terms to be selected is displayed click Next
Once the Term list displays click Finish
You can review the visual presentation to try to find keywords indicative of mental health and also terms that suggest blue spaces.
You can also identify concepts that may not be relevant for example brain analyses that investigate how the brain processes colour
To get the Excel file of records into Voyant go to Voyant Tools
On the home page select the Options icon (two circles)
Then select the Table option by clicking on the down arrow
In the Documents box select 'from entire columns'
In the Contents box type 6+7
this will ensure that only information from the title and abstract fields are loaded into Voyant Tools (and will omit all the other data which you may not want for the analysis)
Click OK
Back on the home page, click on Upload
Select the Excel file you have downloaded from Dimensions
Depending on the size of the file loading may take a little while
Explore the records on blue space and mental health to identify search terms and to concepts to minimise
NOTE: if these settings do not import the records as you expect then you may need to edit the Excel spreadsheet to remove the top line of the worksheet, resave and load again.
