The Focusrite RedNet4 interface is a professional 8 way microphone pre-amp with Dante connection. This allows direct low latency digital recording at up to 192Khz from source over the Campus network from the Lyons concert hall to the Lyons recording studio.
The Lyons Mac has Dante and RedNet controller software installed this allows you to remotely control the routing of the RedNet to Dante Virtual Soundcard, pre-amp levels, phantom power and monitor the input levels at source. This guide shows you how to setup RedNet 4.
To read more about RedNet please follow this guide : https://d2zjg0qo565n2.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/focusrite/downloads/20717/rednet-gsg.pdf
1. Connect the RedNet 4 box via Ethernet cable. The interface needs power use the included power cable. Connect the ethernet cable in the box to the rear of the RedNet4 box to the back right (stage left) of the Lyons Concert Hall.
2. Turn the box on (power switch on right) and connect your microphones via XLRs in the usual way.
3. Switch the Lyons studio mac on (back bottom left button) and launch Dante Via and RedNet Controller in that order.

4. Once you have launched Dante Via and RedNet controller launch your DAW of choice. I have chosen Reaper. Ensure the DAW settings are at 48Khz as this is the sample rate for the RedNet4. I have made a template for using Dante with Reaper. Go to File -> Project Templates -> Reaper Red Net with Apollo
5. Check your inputs are one of Input 1 - 8 Dante Via 16 Ch and your outputs are Mon L and Mon R Universal Audio.
6. Arm your tracks and click on the speaker icon to monitor each channel.
7. Use the RedNet controller to control the RedNet4 remotely. Turn on Phantom, insert high pass filters and trim and monitor the pre-amp inputs.
8. I have made a Reaper template available here : Volumes/Audio HD/Rednet Template/Reaper RedNet with Apollo Template.RPP Or simply go to File -> Project Templates -> Reaper RedNet with Apollo . Note this uses the aggregated audio device created from combining the Apollo and RedNet together. This has already been done for you.
