With a suitcase full of bones

Hey everyone,
Today I went back to Edinburgh to grab our loaned sample of mink skulls and other goodies, stuffed them (carefully) in my suitcase and brought them back to York with me. I think I'm getting used to travelling carrying bones and/or dead animals in my luggage. Well, this is what, my... third trip of that sort? It's still fun though!
Since the mink loan was sorted shortly after our previous visit, this time I got to dive into the carnivoran collections to find missing species for my postcranial study. Gotta catch'em all, right? Well, almost all I guess, since NHMUK keeps ignoring my emails and there's still a bunch of species that I haven't found anywhere... In any case, I'm deeply grateful to NMS and their amazing staff for granting me access to their collections. Can't wait for next trip! Yeah... I wasn't able to browse all the carnivoran specimens in one day...
Anyway, I'm rambling as usual. Next trip should be Bristol to scan the crazy amount of skulls we have recently gathered, but honestly with the current global situation changing on a daily basis, I'm not sure if we'll be able to go down to Bristol anytime soon.
Until next update,
Eloy
17Mar2020 Edit: Well, that developed quickly... Last Friday the trip to Bristol got pushed back because the scanner was malfunctioning (again!), but today that doesn't matter because we're in soft lockdown now. Let's see how working from home goes when only a tiny fraction of the sample is already scanned... I'll let you all know in the next update.
