About the author

Rob Kaufman is the Head of Mission / Field Representative for the American Red Cross, responsible for support to Ukraine and other countries impacted by the armed conflict. Over the last 25+ years, Rob has been a co-founder, director, and senior representative for humanitarian and education institutions around the world. Rob has held numerous leadership positions with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, including Manager for International Relations and Strategic Partnerships in Geneva, Switzerland and Deputy Regional Director for Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. Rob testified in 2021 before a US Congressional Hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on improving education in Africa.
