Green Planet Day 2026 is a one-day symposium celebrating research in plant and algal biology, hosted at the University of York. Following its successful debut in 2025, the event returns on September 14th, 2026. This year’s gathering will bring together researchers for a series of dynamic talks and poster sessions. Key topics include fundamental plant and algal biology, food security, ecology, biodiversity, and the development of sustainable green products from plant, algal, and insect sources.

Student/Post-doc/Technician - £20
PI - £30
Refreshments and lunch are included in the registration fee.
Registration deadline: 14th August 2026
Abstract submission:
6 talks selected from abstracts.
All applicants can present a poster (re-used posters are welcomed and encouraged).
Prizes for the best talk and poster will be awarded on the day and are kindly sponsored by the New Phytologist Foundation.
