We offer a one year MSc in Forensic Speech Science and regular CPD courses in forensic speech and audio analysis. We also welcome PhD students working on a wide range of topics in forensic speech science, forensic linguistics, phonetics and sociolinguistics.
Our MSc in Forensic Speech Science combines general linguistic-phonetic theory and method with extensive practical experience in analysis of forensic materials. The course covers theoretical and methodological problems in performing forensic speech and audio analysis, with a strong focus on practical application of skills and knowledge to recorded materials. Our graduates go on to careers in academia, forensic practice, police and security agencies.
The MSc is a 12 month programme. Shorter options are also available, suitable for visitors, part-time students, and those taking courses for CPD purposes. The Certificate in Forensic Speech Science consists of three modules (60 credits), which can be taken in one semester or split over two or more semesters. The Diploma in Forensic Speech Science comprises six modules (120 Credits). We also now offer a PhD in Forensic Speech and Audio. Please contact us if you are interested in any of these programmes.
We host regular CPD courses in Forensic Speech and Audio Analysis. Details of all upcoming courses are available on the FoSS website.
