Freestanding module philosophy
The Department of Health Sciences provides flexible, dynamic and relevant Continuing Professional Development to meet the learning needs of the health and social care workforce. The freestanding module provision aims to support those working or teaching in the field of health and social care, for example, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, allied health professionals and support workers to meet the challenges of contemporary health and social care practice.
The modules are designed to promote evidence-based care, facilitate the development of transferable knowledge and skills and enhance employment opportunities.Â
Students may be studying a freestanding module from a range of our programmes.
There are sections within this Handbook which include links to further information (e.g. assessment schedules). You should ensure that you access the information appropriate to your programme by clicking on the named programme tab heading.
