Illustrations & figures

A figure should normally appear near the first reference made to it in the text and illustrations should be of a technical quality that reproduces well.

Each illustration should have an identifier and a caption, which describes the illustration briefly.  Numbering of each identifier should be aligned with the chapter that they appear in, such as Figure 3.2 to indicate that this is the second figure in Chapter 3.

Ensure that presented figures are cited and discussed in the main text.
