Welcome!

We are the York DISCO (Disability Community) project. We're a small team of students and staff aiming to improve disabled students' experiences within higher education through building community and belonging.

The project is driven by disabled and ally students, student interns and dedicated staff.  It focuses on exploring and understanding how being part of a community can impact disabled students, as well as the challenges and barriers that disabled students may face and the impact these have on their sense of belonging.

News

We recently conducted a survey to research the current experience of community and beloning within disabled students at the University of York.
