What can VR do for you? - BOOK YOUR PLACE

Interested in what Virtual Reality (VR) actually is, and how it may be useful in your work? In this session, come and have a play with Virtual Reality in the Library's Creativity Lab. This session is intended for those who are new to exploring Virtual Reality and want to learn more about the technology. In this session, there will be a chance to use a VR headset and to evaluate some possible applications of VR.

10 Tips for Video Editing - BOOK YOUR PLACE

In this quick-fire webinar, we'll be going over our 10 top tips for creating and editing videos, from creating and gathering video material to exporting a completed project. Whether you're creating videos for social media, making films to promote your work, or working with short videos for any other purpose, come along to this session to learn about our recommendations for how to get started and what to remember. We will also signpost further resources and training available from the Creativity Lab.

Next Level Video Editing with Premiere Pro - BOOK YOUR PLACE

In this session, we will explore Adobe Premiere Pro and the features you can use to create and edit videos, including some of the key effects to improve both video and sound. You will get hands-on with the fundamentals of creating videos with Premiere Pro, which is available on Creativity Lab PCs, and get the chance to try out green screen technology as well.


Create & Print a 3D Model - BOOK YOUR PLACE

Interested to know how 3D models and objects may be useful for your work or discipline, or just want to learn how to make a 3D model for fun? Based in the Library’s Creativity Lab, this exciting practical 3-hour session is focused on learning how to construct your own keyring model that can then be 3D printed. We’ll explore some useful, free modelling tools, along with the basics of how 3D printers work. During this hands-on session, you will follow a step-by-step guide to create your own model from scratch as you learn some key, transferable principles of 3D design & printing.

Design a 3D printable part with CAD software - BOOK YOUR PLACE

Interested in creating a custom part for a project or invention? Join us for a hands-on CAD workshop where you'll learn how to design and 3D print your own components. We'll guide you through the process of sketching, turning your ideas into 3D models, and incorporating measurements to ensure precision. During the session, you'll explore tools for crafting curved surfaces, adding bevels, and constructing basic parts that can interlock seamlessly. Plus, we'll provide information on accessing our 3D printer maker space, YorCreate, so you can bring your designs to life after the workshop.
