About me: I am Professor of Economics and Leader of the Applied Microeconometrics  (AME) Research Cluster in the Department of Economics at the University of York. Previously, I served as Deputy Head of Department (Research) at York. I spent ten years at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex, where I remain a Research Associate. I am also a Research Fellow at IZA (Institute of Labor Economics) and a Research Associate at CHILD – Collegio Carlo Alberto, Turin. 

Research interests: My research is primarily on child development, education, gender economics and social network.  My work includes papers on gender role attitudes, peers effects, school and parental investments, children’s cognitive and socio-emotional development, and wage inequalities for disable and ethnic minorities. I currently work on gender stereotypes, child mental wellbeing and school misbehaviour, biases in school assessments and tutoring.
