BUMPs is a validated scale for examining feelings towards bodily changes during pregnancy. Developed by Dr Elizabeth Kirk (Anglia Ruskin University) and Dr Catherine Preston (University of York)
The BUMPs development paper can be found here
Kirk, E., & Preston, C. (2019). Development and validation of the Body Understanding Measure for Pregnancy Scale (BUMPS) and its role in antenatal attachment. Psychological Assessment, 31(9), 1092-1106. http://dx.doi.org/10.1037/pas0000736
Scores on BUMPs are found to relate to measures of depression, anxiety and interoception. It is also a predictor of antenatal attachment.
Feel free to download and use our measure for free.
