The lab is equipped with a Micro ultrasound system from Articulate Instruments, for the study of lingual articulation in 2D space. This system includes a front-facing lip camera to allow for simultaneous recording of the lips.
We have a Carstens AG501 Electromagnetic Articulograph, which facilitates the simultaneous tracking of different parts of the vocal tract anatomy in 3D space using magnets glued to different parts of the tongue, lips and face.
The ArticuLab contains a large soundproof booth for optimal acoustic data collection, as well as a PC/laptop with Praat, AAA, and other software required for research using this equipment.
