Architecture is deeply intertwined with cultural, social, environmental, and technological change. By placing sustainability, equity, and resilience at the forefront of architectural thinking, current research continues to shape more responsible futures for architecture and the built environment.
The School of Architecture at the University of York is pleased to launch the first ArchiFUTURES PhD Conference, a student-led forum dedicated to showcasing and supporting doctoral research in architecture and the built environment.
We warmly welcome PhD researchers working across a wide range of disciplinary and methodological approaches, from ancient cities and historic architecture to contemporary design, sustainable futures, and emerging global challenges.

ArchiFUTURES is a doctoral training initiative that brings together research, academic, and non-academic partners interested in advancing novel modes and approaches to doctoral training in architecture and in exchanging knowledge and methodologies within the field.
