Big Data, Markov Decision Process for Health Care
More and more data is getting used for medical decision making. Markov decision process or partially observable Markov decision process a good framework for optimal decision making including medical decision making. We are currently investigating the possibility of using Korean insurance data that covers six million Korean for last 15 to 20 years for aiding medical decision making process.
Product Line Pricing and Optimization
Network Economics and Internet Pricing
Technology deployment is a complex process involving not only technology but also market and economics. In these works, we try to address economic aspects related with internet services such as pricing, femtocell technologies and more.
Efficient and Fair Resource Allocation in Networks (alpha-Fairness)
Bandwidth or radio spectrum is a scarce resource in networks. Fair and efficient allocation of those resources are very important. However, there are many definitions of fairness and efficiency. We propose a generalized definition called “alpha-fairness” in the following paper “Fair end-to-end window-based congestion control”. The alpha-fairness received attentions from research community and the paper was cited 1115 times (Aug. 3, 2012) according to the google scholar.
