At our lab, we delve into the fascinating world of the adaptive immune system, focusing on the immune responses of T cells and B cells. Our primary goal is to uncover the mysteries of immune tolerance—a critical process that prevents strong immune reactions against everyday antigens, including self-antigens, food antigens, and foreign antigens like commensal microbes. Building on this understanding, we seek to elucidate the mechanisms behind diseases that arise from the breakdown of immune tolerance to these antigens, such as allergies, inflammatory bowel diseases, and autoimmune diseases, and to propose new therapeutic approaches.
