In Reading/Writing/Social Studies class, this week in Reading (Benchmark Advanced), we will begin Unit 1: Observing Nature. We will cover topics including relevant details, central idea (implied & explicit), and using context clues to find word meanings. During Writing, our main goal is to write expository (informational) texts about a topic using multiple sources and including an organizational structure and relevant elaboration. These are only a few on the topics, please see our "Assignments" tab for more info.
We are currently in Unit 3, where we learn more strategies to find products for multiplication facts. Teh end-goal os this unit is for students to be able to recall multiplication facts with factors up to 12 and related division facts with automaticity.
Students raise questions about the natural world, use appropriate reference materials that support understanding to obtain information (identifying the source), conduct both individual and team investigations through free exploration and systemic investigations, and generate appropriate explanations based on those explorations.
