Unit 3 using Benchmark Advance: Why do we need a government? 

During this unit students will also practice how to write and expository essay. Students will pick out a book based off of different government jobs. Students will take notes on the book they choose and write an essay on what they learned from their reading.

Our focus will be on ordering 3-digit numbers and rounding whole numbers to the nearest 10. We will be reinforcing place value concepts while also practicing decomposing numbers and comparing numbers using symbols.

Students are learning about different science tools and how to investigate during science experiments.  

Chapter 4: How does a town grow? In this chapter, students will learn about the various factors that define their town.
