Welcome to our 5th Grade adventure with Mrs. Fields and Mrs. Newman! Together, we’re creating an exciting year filled with learning, growth, and fun.
In Mrs. Fields’ class, students will explore the worlds of ELA and Social Studies, building strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while diving into history and culture. In Mrs. Newman’s class, students will power up in Math and Science, discovering the strategies, problem-solving, and curiosity needed to succeed.
Just like our themes Mario World and Wreck-It Ralph we’re ready to smash challenges, level up, and unlock new achievements every step of the way. With a strong foundation built on discipline and accountability, our 5th graders will thrive in both academics and character.
This year is going to be lit full of energy, adventure, and success. We can’t wait to see our students grow into the ultimate champions of learning!
Let families know what students are focusing on in reading and writing. You might include the current genre or strategy being taught (e.g., making inferences, writing personal narratives), the mentor texts you’re using, and any ongoing writing pieces or reading goals.
Use this space to share the current math topic or standard students are working on. Include key vocabulary, strategies being taught, or an example problem if possible. You can also highlight any hands-on activities, games, or online tools being used to reinforce learning.
Briefly describe the science unit or investigation students are exploring. Mention big questions, experiments, or themes (e.g., weather, plants, matter). If applicable, include any upcoming projects, observations, or STEM connections.
