The Wildcats Academy is designed to help students grow as athletes, learners, and leaders. With these opportunities also comes the responsibility to show respect, accountability, and positive behavior both at school and at the training facilities.

Students may choose to participate in one academy program. Here’s a quick overview of what is available:
Hockey Academy – Designed for students who already have skating and hockey experience. This is not a Learn-to-Skate or introductory hockey program; instead, it builds on existing skills. Held at the Multiplex.
Futsal Academy – Open to both beginner and intermediate players who want to learn and improve their game. Held at the Field House.
Dance Academy (in partnership with Bella Dance Academy) – Offered at both beginner and intermediate/advanced levels. Held at WMS.
Gymnastics Academy (in partnership with Yellowknife Gymnastics Club) – Offered at both beginner and intermediate/advanced levels. Held at the Field House. (YK Gymnastics Club)
To help organize the programs, each academy will have a set number of spots, with registration considered in order of grade (starting with grade 8, then grade 7, then grade 6).
Academies run during periods 7 & 8 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (program type dependent). A calendar and specific details will be sent to parents by the school when registration is confirmed and payment has been processed.
Students are expected to have equipment to support programming. Jerseys and student swag (only) is provided.
Academies will begin the first week of October 2025.
