A Long Walk to Water
GT Girls experienced the weight of water that so many women and children face today in third-world countries such as in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Honduras. These women and children walk for miles and miles each day taking them so long that they are unable to attend school and eat one meal a day. A book, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, based on the true story of Salva Dut, is a remarkable story of 2 children who after enduring hardships because of the lack of access to water their lives astonishingly intersect at the end.
