We understand that you have many questions regarding the school closure affecting our schools. We also know that you have concerns regarding next steps in your child's education. Here you will find a short synopsis of what the district is doing in anticipation of going online for all instruction beginning April 6th. YISD district personnel, teachers, and staff are all working collaboratively in the best interest of all our students. All teachers are working hard to plan and provide their students relevant, meaningful and engaging lessons.

March 23 - 27

During the first full week of school closures, Ysleta ISD administrators and principals worked with faculty and staff to prepare for the roll-out of a new online learning plan. This new online learning plan would launch Monday, April 6. To prepare, principals met with teachers and instructional specialists both in person and through digital videoconferencing – in accordance with all city/county “Stay Home, Work Safe” requirements – to create a master schedule for instruction. Numerous teachers also proactively reached out to families to keep students engaged by providing additional learning opportunities during the school closures.

March 30 - April 3

During the second full week of school closures, teachers will not only begin finalizing their online lessons, but reach out to students and families to help introduce and familiarize them with online learning, as well as their expectations for students.

April 6 -10

If school closures extend past April 3, Ysleta ISD’s new online learning plan will go live for students and parents on Monday, April 6. Parents are asked to provide children with a specific place to complete schoolwork at home.

Those in need of technical assistance with online learning are encouraged to call the district’s Innovative Learning representatives.
