Hello, and Welcome to the Hanks Orchestra Virtual Classroom!

While this setting may be different from your usual in person ensemble setting you are used to, I want you to know that regardless of our classroom situation, we are going to use this time to really gain a new appreciation for music as the musicians we are.

During the duration of our class-time on line, I will be introducing you to new and exciting things in the world of music. This will include your participation in viewing live concerts, watching music documentaries and exploring more into the world of music appreciation. While I am hopeful you are still continuing to use the time to practice your instrument at home (such as reviewing your technique, finger patterns, scales, and music) It is my hopes to guide you through this class by taking a look at music from the other side.

I hope you all take this opportunity to learn and appreciate music from another angle. Please do not let these assignments deter you from your passion of playing but rather use them to help it flourish.

If you all have any ideas you would like to share with our class to utilize as a lesson, it is highly encouraged. I am open to your ideas.
