Problem in Flint

Flint switched their water source to save money. But the city in didn’t use corrosion-control treatment to prevent lead getting into the water. The water contained eight times more chlorine and other elements than Detroit's water, because the Flint river was full of pollutants, and they had to sanitise the water by putting chlorine and other elements. The people living in Flint complained about the new water. The water from the tap was a brownish yellowish colour, it smelled like pond water and chlorine, and it tasted odd. The new water was 70% harder than the previous water.

Later on, they found out that the water had a lot of lead, which is dangerous for little children. Lead is a chemical element that is used for pencil leads. It is poisonous for you, if you inhale, swallow, or rarely absorb it through the skin. It is poisonous for everyone, but mainly for younger kids. In October 2015, they switched the water back to the Detroit water supply, but the water was still unsafe. Right now the lead levels had dropped, but it is still not the level where you can drink the water. People in Flint don’t drink the water because they can't trust Flint anymore.
