Profile
I’ve been an emerging artist since I was about 7. At the core of both my paintings & photography lie the sun, moon & bamboo. They are strong influences in my life & feature in my artwork to help express the visions I see with my minds eye. To me - these elements signify a "constant" & "resilience" in the midst of disruption & change both on a personal level and societal level.
I consider myself an abstract artist. I paint with acrylics & putty, use a combination of mono colors, purple, green & orange hues & metallics to highlight the contrasts of light & different dimensions. Palette knives, dry brush, bird feathers, kitchen utensils & cardboard edges are the main tools I use.
My style is geometric & cubist with strong lines to define the way I see different dimensions. More recently I have been experimenting with art-deco which is for "fun" & emerged from my passion for interrior design. Sometimes these 2 styles can be seen "playing" together.
Philosophy
I paint to show an abstract world. It’s a space where I am free to distort. Where I can be imperfect & express the scenes I see of other dimensions beyond.
My photography is also absract. In this sphere I see solitude. A special light, an unmatched atmosphere, a lonely spot, long desolate roads, light, dark, clouds, sun & moon. A mini gap where someone can feel they can just BE. Simple & beautiful as that.
There are no people in any of my artworks. That is deliberate. I want to protray that which is beyond the flesh & the human structure.
