Whether you are new or returning staff at Porter Creek, you should have access to the PCSS Staff Google Classroom and all the resources there. If you do not have access, please contact Astrid or Linda!
You are also invited to explore some of the resources we have put together for you on this page. In addition to these resources, please connect with your department heads! They can let you know about any grade-specific materials you need to know about.
Booking Site: pcss.appointmentschedule.com
Please contact Astrid or Linda regarding your login info - we try to get everyone set up in advance but staffing changes don't always allow for this!
Class sets of laptops and iPads (with keyboards!) available to book for use in your classroom
Two booking options for the Library - one with computer access and the other without (though many teachers with smaller classes share if it works for their students' needs)
Podcast Room - smaller space at the back of the library set up for improved audio capture (we have audio/video gear available to use as well, but the room is available to book for focused small group or EA/Student work
Foods Room - you can book the space when there are no classes scheduled, however you are responsible for the condition of the space after your use, so you need to familiarise yourself with the rules of the facility

Flex Room - Room 224, this is the former LA room and is available for booking. There are often regularly scheduled outside specialists working with students in this space, so please be extra mindful of how you leave the space.
Reporting:
These files (and more!) are located on the Google Classroom.
Make a copy of the Google Doc reporting template, complete with drop down menus for proficiencies! This is updated for each reporting period.
Writing Descriptive Comments Framework (PDF) - this can be found as Appendix L in the department's iBook on Communicating Student Learning, but depending on how you access that tool you may or may not be able to open the comment appendix anymore. Click on the underlined title to open this very helpful document!
Converting Proficiencies to Percentages (PDF) - click on the underlined title for the conversion chart for how to change your proficiency-based assessment to a percentage (grade 10-12 only).
Online Materials:
We have access to all kinds of paid subscriptions through the department, many of which only require using a teacher login on a school computer for access! Please see the Staff Google Classroom (and the August startup email from Astrid) for direct links and other useful documents that are specific to our school (such as how to make a visual class list in Aspen or how to change student passwords in the portal).
