On December 24, 2004, Wang Yung-ching, the chairman of Formosa Plastics Corporation, inspected the Health and Culture Village in Chiayi County and the land for Chang Gung Comprehensive High school.

On March 25, 2005, Wang Yung-ching promised to establish Chang Gung Comprehensive High school.

On April 28, 2008, it was renamed as Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School.

On August 1, 2008, the preparatory office for Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School was established.

On August 1, 2009, it was officially established.
