My accomplishments this week are pretty straightforward: I was able to finish my paper, for a total of 14 pages of content. I was also able to complete my maps and my website, for which I chose to embed my maps into a Google Site, since I only had one map to use. Finally, I was able to make a good start (and hopefully finish this afternoon) on my presentation for the symposium next week. I currently have an outline that I just need to fill info into.
I wouldn't say there was much preventing my best work this week. It was a very creation heavy week, so my own motivation has been the biggest hinderance. Other than that, it has been tiring to be in the library all the time, but not unexpected.Â
As I've been working with much of the same information this week, there hasn't been much new information revealed on my topic. I have learned that I much prefer desgining a website to writing large paragraph of a paper.
I also learned from Dr. Stan that map layers must be in a tile format to be used on many of the Arc Instant Apps.
Finally, I learned from Holly that the Mississippi Lunatic Asylum had an issue with dysentery because patients would drink out of a dirty pond even after being told not to.
