Our Workshop concludes like a “commencement”—a new beginning, not an end. You came to the Naylor Workshop with ideas, with previous experience, knowledge and research, and with the intention of further developing those ideas. After having the opportunity to work with fellow researchers and mentors, you will develop an informal poster that captures the enhanced directions of your project—perhaps new ideas for research methods, for your purposes, and audiences, for dissemination of your research, and/or for how your work can have “consequential publicness”—an impact on some group.
We’ll share the outcomes of your project re-visioning in our final session together, giving you one more chance to gather some feedback before you are on your way, hopefully with a head full of enriched ideas.
To facilitate this sharing of ideas and gathering of feedback, you will create a simple poster that captures your latest thinking and future directions, and you will have the opportunity to give a very brief “pitch” (just a minute or less) about the project, and then to gather feedback as others visit with you and view your poster.
To create this informal poster, you can use (and feel free to alter!) one OR MORE of these poster templates. If you feel more comfortable and creative with other formats (fully or partly hand drawn—brief video or podcast, etc.—we're open to that as well! Just let us know.
And here are some examples of posters others have created, just to get your ideas going!
