Reopening Highlights
All schools will be open for in-person instruction five days a week at full capacity
All returning and new students will automatically be registered for in-person learning with the exception of those already participating in an independent study program at the Yucaipa ConnectEd Academy or Personalized Education Plan
For families who aren't ready to send their children to in-person school, both our independent study schools are hosting open enrollment through the school year. For more information, visit the tab labeled, "Independent Study" on the left
We are still following all guidance, as required, by the California Department of Public Health and the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration
Free school meals are now available to all students
Learning Options for the 2021-2022 School Year
Traditional In-Person
On-campus, regular full-day schedule. Minimum days may vary by school
Students assigned a teacher from their respective school
Social distancing is no longer required
No more temperature tests or COVID-19 screening
Students, staff, and visitors must wear masks indoors; masks are optional outdoors
Back to regular recess
Classes are back to full capacity
Free meals for all students
Full-day Kindergarten now at most sites
Before and after school care being offered by the City of Yucaipa's S.T.A.R.S. program
Before and afterschool programs are being announced soon!
Independent Study
Open enrollment is happening now
Parents/guardians who are interested must request a parent/educator conference through the "Independent Study" tab on the left
Students will be assigned a teacher from either the Yucaipa ConnectEd Academy (YCA) or Personalized Education Plan (PEP+)
Offers schedule flexibility
Can be completed online, over the phone, or in-person
One-on-one with certificated or classified staff
Grades K-3 receive daily synchronous instruction
Grades 4-8 receive daily live interaction and at least weekly synchronous instruction
Grades 9-12 receive at least weekly synchronous instruction
COVID-19 Guidance and Regulations
The Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District follows all state, county, and local guidance relating to COVID-19, as required. Below is an overview of current guidance for K-12 schools and COVID-19 safety in the workplace. California Department of Public Health COVID-19 Guidance
Face coverings (masks) must be worn by all staff, students, and visitors while indoors
Face coverings (masks) are optional while outdoors
Social/physical distancing is no required as a mitigation step
Capacity limits have been reestablished to pre-COVID-19 levels
All ventilation recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control continue to be implemented at all campuses
No more temperature screenings at schools but if you or your student feels COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms, please remain home and notify your principal
YCJUSD is still practicing mitigation strategies through cleaning and disinfection, as required
