Your health matters. MOBYSS (Mobile York South Simcoe) is travelling around York Region and South Simcoe to meet your confidential health care needs in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Are you concerned about birth control, STDs or pregnancy? Feeling down, anxious or coping with drugs and alcohol? Maybe you have a sore throat or another injury. Whatever your concerns, we are here to help.
Services are free and geared for youth aged 12 – 25. You can just walk-in or use our “Save-A-Spot in line” function to virtually line up. A 10 minute text reminder will let you know when it is your turn. The team includes health care from a Nurse Practitioner, specialized youth mental health worker, and peer support specialist.
My House is an inclusive and safe space. Those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies can access information and resources on services, arts and culture, and volunteer opportunities. A comprehensive collection of Queer literature and books is available that can be borrowed for personal use. Space is provided for members to gather as a community to form social supports and organize recreational activities to improve their overall health and wellness, and that of the LGBTQ+ community in York Region. Groups are on an open drop-in basis:
A grassroots, community-based, registered non-profit organization providing support for individuals and families including those affected by eating disorders. Now, also offering support for substance use and addictions through an expressive and therapeutic art program made possible by funding by the Ontario Trillium Foundation for a collaboration with Addiction Services for York Region.
York Support Services Network offers the Community Crisis Response Service for persons living in York Region or South Simcoe who are having a mental health crisis, and their family or friends.
