Learn best from practical hands on activities
Learn best in a smaller class where teachers are able to give students extra attention
Willing to use class time wisely to practice science concepts and skills
May require modified and/or alternative curriculum expectations based on individual needs

It is expected that students who choose this pathway will demonstrate the following qualities, characteristics and learning skills:

Gain confidence in applying problem-solving & critical thinking skills
Learn best through tactile learning and hands on activities
Understand concepts more clearly when they are related to real-life applications
Able to self-regulate and use class time wisely
Willing to complete homework and review concepts on a daily basis (average 30 minutes per day)
Develop research based skills
Understand career pathways
Take a proactive approach to their success.

It is expected that students who choose this pathway will demonstrate the following qualities, characteristics and learning skills:

Enjoys inquiry-based learning about science and its applications
Embrace challenges that incorporate an interdisciplinary approaching using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
Strong time management and organizational skills
Motivated & independent learner
Able to advocate for themselves to ensure thorough understanding of curriculum concepts and catch up on missed assessments
Willing to spend time at home to complete homework and review concepts on a daily basis. (average 1 hour per day)
Is strongly considering to attend university upon graduation
