Can you apply from other grades?

Yes, Grade  9, 10 and 11 applicants are expected to present work at a higher level of technical skill in a wide variety of media.

Can you apply if you are not Catholic or Do not attend a Catholic School?

Yes. 

Can apply if you live out of area?

Yes.

What media should I have represented in my portfolio?

Students are asked to have a variety of media but should not engage in media for the sake of inclusion to meet the specifications.  We encourage a variety of media but would rather see a representation of their strengths. Students should include drawings created from direct live observation vs. copying from photo resources.

What kind of professions are connected with the arts?

The creative industry is broad and includes many different areas. Some of these include applied arts such as graphic design, illustration, industrial design etc. There are also the academic branches such as curation and instruction. Many artists are entrepreneurs who run their own businesses.  Creativity, problem solving and independent thinking are assets in every profession and these are areas that are developed in every level of the visual arts program. The rich visual culture that we inhabit reflects our need of visual artists and creative individuals.
