ONTARIO YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) is a School to Career program that opens the door for students to explore and work in apprenticeship occupations through the Cooperative Education program. Students have an opportunity to become registered apprentices and work towards becoming a certified journeyperson in a skilled trade while completing their secondary school diploma.
Students who wish to enroll in OYAP must:
▪ be 16 years of age
▪ be a full time student in a secondary school
▪ have 16 high school credits
▪ be working towards their Ontario Secondary
School Diploma.
The following Accelerated OYAP programs will be potentially offered every year and include Level One MTCU curriculum and are available to Gr. 12 students who will graduate at the end of Semester two.
Autobody & Collision Damage Repair - Centennial - (2 Dual Credits)
Automotive Service Technician – Centennial College – (2 Dual Credits)
Cook/Baker – Culinary Arts – Humber College (3 Dual Credits)
Brick & Stone Mason – Ontario Masonry Training Centre (2 Dual Credits)
Construction Craft Worker - Liuna 183 (2 dual credits)
Drywall Acoustic Mechanic and Lather – IFSTC
Electrician– Humber College – (2 dual credits)
Floor Covering Installer – CCAT (2 dual credits)
General Carpenter – CCAT (2 dual credits)
General Machinist - CCAT (2 dual credits)
Hairstylist- Studio 500 Toronto (2 dual credits)
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Centennial (2 dual credits)
Plumber - Humber (2 dual credits)
Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Systems Mechanic – George Brown College – Casa Loma Campus (2 dual credits)
Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Setter - TTMTS
Truck and Coach Technician – Centennial College - (2 dual credits)
