Dress Code

The St. Andrew Catholic School Standardized Dress Code shall be worn to school each day

• All articles of clothing shall be solid navy, grey or white, as specified below

• Clothing shall be free of any writing, logos greater than the size of a toonie or pictures

• Bottoms shall not include jeans

• As per board policy, St. Andrew Spirit Wear items will be allowed as part of the Dress Code from JK to Grade 8

For ALL boys and girls tops and bottoms, language or pictures that indicate violence, profanity or discrimination of any kind and NO accessories not in keeping with the spirit of the Dress Code as determined by administration will permitted.

The Standardized Dress Code will apply:

• On school premises and for class trips and school photos

Please note that the standardized dress code will be shared with all students so that they are clearly aware of our expectations. When students choose not to wear an appropriate clothing item the following progressive approach will be used:

• Verbal reminders of expectations

• Communication with parent / guardian

• Written notification to parent / guardian by the Principal or designate outlining the Dress Code expectations

GIRLS’/BOYS’ TOPS

Solid WHITE, GREY or NAVY t-shirt, golf shirt, turtleneck or long-sleeved polo
St. Andrew Spirit Wear
Solid NAVY or GREY zip polo sweater, sweatshirt, cardigans tops are optional
NO halter tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, muscle tops, tube tops or tops with low neckline.

GIRLS BOTTOMS

NAVY or GREY pants, track pants
NAVY or GREY skirt, skort, tunic, capris or walking shorts
NO short shorts or short skirts are permitted

SHOES

No flip flops

BOYS BOTTOMS

NAVY or GREY pants, track pants
NAVY or GREY walking shorts, longer gym shorts solid colour

GYM WEAR

Shall be in the same colours as the standardized dress above: white, grey or navy t-shirt, navy or grey bottoms

Please ensure that your child wears clothes that they can manage independently (please avoid laces, difficult snaps/buttons, and belts)

Change of Clothes

Please send a complete set of extra clothing (top, pants, underwear, socks) in a large Ziploc bag labelled with your child's name that will remain at school.

Indoor Shoes

Please provide your child with INDOOR SHOES that are labelled with their name (ready for the first day of school). These shoes will remain at school in your child's cubby. Please ensure shoes are VELCRO.
Velcro shoes are a great option as this will allow your child to independently put on his/her footwear.

Label

Please LABEL all clothing articles (shoes, hats, mitts, scarves, jackets, snow pants, and boots) with your child’s name.

Outdoor Clothing

Children play outside everyday (even in the winter); therefore, please ensure that they are properly dressed.
