Our SMASH students are faith-filled leaders within our school community and have a variety of gifts and talents. They are responsible for many different events and activities throughout the year. These include, but are not limited to, school masses, charities and fundraisers, social justice initiatives, liturgical celebrations, mentorship, welcoming new students, grade 9 orientation, retreat leadership and much more!
The goal of SMASH is to foster leadership and Christian community within the Sacred Heart community. All SMASH members give of their time to help make Sacred Heart the amazing school that it is!
The application process to join SMASH usually begins in January or February. Teacher references as well as an interview are part of the application process.
Chosen leaders receive training facilitated by Jericho House Ministries at an overnight 3-day retreat, typically held in April or May. This is a mandatory component to being part of SMASH.
If you are a grade 9 or 10 student who possesses characteristics such as responsible, cooperative, good communicator, respectful, honest, reliable, dedicated, committed, and gets along with others, consider applying to SMASH this year!
