During Course Selections, students in Grade 11 or 12 can choose a two, three, or four credit co-op for their semester. Courses can be chosen via the myblueprint software. Simply choose:
2 credit co-op
3 credit co-op
4 credit co-op
Co-op Application
An application and interview process MUST accompany the course selections for each student. Please click on the Application link to fill out and attach all documents including your Statement of Understanding signed by a parent/guardian and TWO teacher references.

Co-op Semester-General Information
When applying to take Co-op, students have the option of choosing from the following:
2 credit, 3 credit, 4 credit Co-op- students can choose a field of interest to explore a potential career at the University, College, Apprenticeship or Work Experience within the local community. Here is a list of some of the consistent placements that students are able to choose from:
2. SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major)- This certification allows students to explore careers at the University, College, and Apprenticeship level focusing on a specific sector. Sacred Heart has TWO SHSM focuses which are: 1. Health & Wellness 2. Arts & Culture.
It is mandatory to take a two credit (or more) co-op for any student who is affiliated with the SHSM certification.

3. Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)- This pathway allows students to be a student apprentice who have an interest in the skilled trades. Students will be a OYAP participant in Gr. 11 and OYAP Registered Participant in Gr. 12 where their co-op hours will count towards their total hours in the skilled trade of interest.

4. Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)-Accelerated- This option is for students who are interested in the skilled trades to earn both high school credits and register as apprentices and complete their Level 1 Apprenticeship training.

Transportation is the responsibility of the student to get to and from their placement on a day to day basis. Funding WILL NOT be provided by the school.
