Grade 9 - ALC10R Semester 1

This course integrates two or more of the arts (media arts & visual arts), giving students the opportunity to produce and present integrated artworks created individually or collaboratively. Students will demonstrate innovation through the use of emergent technology in hardware and software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and various 3D modelling and drawing programs. Students will use the creative process and responsible practices to explore solutions to integrated arts challenges

Grade 9 - AWT10R Semester 2

This course is exploratory in nature, offering an overview of visual arts as a foundation for further study. Students will become familiar with the elements and principles of design and the expressive qualities of various materials by using a range of digital media and emergent technologies, processes, techniques and styles. Students will use the creative and critical analysis processes and will interpret art within a personal, contemporary and historical context.

Grade 10 - ASM20R Semester 1

This course enables students to create media art works by exploring new media, emerging technologies such as and a variety of traditional art forms such as film, photography, video and visual arts. Students will acquire communications skills that are transferable beyond the media arts classroom and develop an understanding of responsible practices related to the creative process. Students will develop the skills necessary to create and interpret media art works.

Grade 10 - ​AWT30R Sem​ester 2

This course explores a foundational approach to the gestural and figurative drawing. This informs artworks that focus on character design and concept oriented illustration in a variety of new media. 3-Dimensional construction is explored through various rendering software. Students will continue to work through the design process and reflect work that speaks to contemporary culture and community.

Grade 11 - ASM3MR Semester 1

This course focuses on the development of critical thinking skills through the production of art works involving Identity in relation to branding. Students will explore aspects of typography and layout as tools to best articulate and define a personal brand. The design process will be explored through various projects that consider user experience interface and packaging.

Grade 11 - AWN3MR Semester 2

This course focuses on the development of media arts skills through the production of art works involving traditional and emerging technologies, tools and techniques such as new media, computer animation, and web environments. Students will explore the evolution of media arts as an extension of traditional art forms, use the creative process to produce effective media art works and critically analyze the unique characteristics of this art form.

​Grade 12 - ASM4MR Semester 1

This course provides students with the opportunity to continue to develop a personal approach to their personal art making. Studio works are student directed with a strong focus on portfolio creation for post secondary institutions. Contemporary art and practises will be explored to allow students to refine their abilities and to create a personal voice in their digital discipline.

​Grade 12 - AWT4MR Semester 2

This course enables students to develop their skills in producing and presenting art by introducing them to new ideas, processes and current digital practices for artistic exploration and experimentation. Students will apply a multi-disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary approach when exploring the creative process. Students will pursue the critical analysis process to reflect on and interpret art within a personal, contemporary and historical context.
