Ceramics 1 Portfolio

Spring 2026

I chose this object because I thought the colors of it were pretty, and the colors contrasted well with each other. I like the shape of the container because it looks like it can hold things like jewelry, etc. I think the design was made by a very talented person!

End of Semester Thoughts:

First thoughts & hopes for this semester:

I think ceramics is similar to other forms of art (like drawing, painting, etc.), because it includes the aspects of creativity, and making a work of art. I think it is different from other forms of art because you are using clay, and creating a 3D object. I also think ceramics are unique because you can make functioning objects that you can use in your everyday life. Some aspects of my life that are important to me and may influence my ceramic work are lacrosse, cooking, the ocean, and mountains. This semester with clay I would really love to make something that I can use in my everyday life, like a food appliance, jewelry dish, or even room decor. To keep up with my classwork and get it done on time, I will focus in class, pay attention to directions, and get work done during times like clipper time if I don’t finish in class.
